Marvel Rivals Players Report Frustrating New Technical Issue

- Some Marvel Rivals fans on PC are facing crashes due to a memory leak.
- The game has reached 40M players in under 3 months, but some fans are unhappy with optimisation issues.
- Despite technical hiccups, the latest update that added Human Torch and The Thing has been well received by many players.
Some Marvel Rivals fans have been encountering a frustrating issue on PC where the game suddenly crashes and reports the presence of a memory leak. Marvel Rivals‘ latest update added a wealth of new content to the game, giving gamers two new heroes to play and a fresh map to explore.
It was recently reported that Marvel Rivals has been a big success for NetEase Games, as the popular hero shooter has managed to reach over 40 million players less than three months after its debut. The PC community has played a large role in the title’s success, as it dominated Steam’s top-sellers and concurrent players charts both at launch and during the release of Season 1: Eternal Night Falls. Unfortunately, some fans have also complained about optimization issues on the popular platform.

In a recent post on Reddit, -ManWhat shared a frustrating experience they encountered when the hero shooter would crash and report the presence of a memory leak. It seems as if other players have also been struggling with the issue and attempted to shed some light on what could be the cause. One person suggested that the problem might have something to do with the game’s launcher, as it is inconsistent about shutting down after the game launches or closes. Some players said they could only close the launcher by opening their computer’s task manager and forcing the program to close. A few gamers said they’ve only encountered the issue since the release of Marvel Rivals major 1.5 update, while others complained that they’ve faced similar problems since launch.
Marvel Rivals May Have a Memory Leak on PC
Several people complained about the title’s optimization overall, suggesting that NetEase Games should focus more of its efforts on squashing technical issues. Since the developer disabled the use of mods, gamers can only adjust Marvel Rivals‘ PC settings when trying to streamline their experience. NetEase Games has also issued several statements asking players not to alter anything within the title’s files.

Despite technical hiccups experienced by some members of the community, the major mid-season update has been popular with many fans. The introduction of Human Torch into Marvel Rivals seems to have been a big success, as a lot of players claim they’ve seen the hero used in just about every match they’ve played. However, some gamers are now saying that the hero shooter has too many flying characters, which may be changing the meta of Marvel Rivals. With the second half of Season 1 already well underway, a large portion of the community is already looking forward to seeing what NetEase Games comes up with for Season 2.
